Neuništiva je, ikona je, i mislim i da ako bude stvarao gubitke, da će ga Mercedes zadržati radi imidža u svom programu još koju godinu, a za pokriće troškova će preusmjeriti dio sredstava od marketinga. Bolje nego da ih troši na oglašavanje na kakvim pijacama polovnjaka. Ovo je G-klasa za modelsku 2016. godinu, i najveće promjene, praktično jedine, su ispod karoserije. Novi V8 od 4,0 litra sa turbom je namijenjen za G500, a kod G350 i AMG G63 varijantu snaga će biti povećana. Svi motori imaju stop/start sistem kao standard.
Inače promjene vani su kozmetičke prirode, srećom, možda se najbolje vide na odbojnicima, nove boje su tu, a ima promjena u unutrašnjosti (fotke).
Even after more than 35 years, the Mercedes-Benz G-Class continues to be an off-road icon and is maybe more popular than ever before. Mercedes introduces a new 4.0 liter turbocharged V8 engine for the G500; also the output of the G350 and the G63 AMG have been increased. Furthermore all engines have been outfitted with an ECO start/stop function to reduce fuel consumption and emissions. On the cosmetic side, the brand introduces restyled bumpers and standard AMG flared wheel arches for the G350d and G500, new 18-inch alloy wheels for the G350d, as well as a revised instrument panel.
